Casino – The Casino Tactics That Keep Players Gambling
Casino is a classic Scorsese film that presents a more complete picture of Vegas than Goodfellas or any other movie has. It lays bare the seedy origins of the city and its past ties with organized crime while still showing all of the glamour, neon signs, and twinkling lights. It is a great mix of drama, history, and heist movie that really gives you the full scope of Vegas. Robert De Niro is as great as ever and Sharon Stone is just stunning in her role. Joe Pesci is a force to be reckoned with as well as his character is perfectly cast. This is the best portrayal of mob henchman I have seen to date. His scene with Ginger in the car where he turns into a hound going after her is one of the greatest scenes in movie history.
In reality, casinos have many different tactics that they use to keep players gambling. For example, a common trick is to strategically place essential amenities like toilets and restaurants deep within the gaming area. This makes it a long walk to get to them and increases the chances that a player will make a spur of the moment decision to gamble just a bit longer. Another tactic is to make players believe that they are lucky by presenting them with near wins on slots and other machines. This will increase their play time and the amount of money they spend on the machine.
