Poker

Poker is a game in which players make bets with chips. These chips come in different colors, like green, blue, and red. Before the game starts, a dealer assigns a value to each chip. Then, after the hand has been dealt, each player turns over his cards to reveal their hands. Usually, each hand has a different value.

The highest hand in poker is five of a kind. The hand must contain at least two different pairs of cards. The higher pair wins. In a tie, the second pair wins. If there are multiple pairs of cards of the same type, the high card breaks the tie. For example, if a player has a pair, and a player has a pair of eights, he wins.

Poker can be played with a single deck of 52 cards, or with several different decks. Each deck contains twenty-four cards. The player with the highest hand is the dealer. The cards are dealt face-up, from left to right. The player on the dealer’s left must cut the deck but leave at least five cards. After this, the dealer passes the turn to the next player clockwise.
