Casino Review
Casinos are a great place to meet new people and have fun. They also offer many social activities to enhance the experience. From playing table games to enjoying a drink at the bar, there are many opportunities to have fun and create memories with friends and family.
After the success of Goodfellas, the producers behind Martin Scorsese’s Casino felt confident that they could release a movie that would penetrate the culture and garner another healthy return on investment. Adapted from the true story of Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal’s Stardust casino in Las Vegas, Casino reunited De Niro and Pesci to play mobster partners Sam “Ace” Rothstein and Ginger McKenna, and surrounded them with a talented cast including Joe Piscopo as the muscle.
Unlike Scorsese’s mafia films (Mean Streets, Goodfellas), Casino is less concerned with characterization and more interested in history. It shows how the city of Las Vegas allowed criminals like Ace and Ginger to flourish, only to spit them out, as it became more profitable for the big corporations to run the gambling machine.
The film is also notable for its crisp and energetic storytelling, especially its use of music. The soundtrack adds to the overall ambiance and enhances each scene. The movie is a must-see for fans of Scorsese and anyone who appreciates a well-made film. It is a harsh yet delicately balanced masterpiece. Even those who dislike the subject matter will find it hard not to be moved by this film.
